Tamilnadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has ordered the reopening and revamp of the Amma Canteens across the state of Tamil Nadu. Amma Canteens were launched in 2013 by then chief minister J. Jayalalitha who was fondly called as Amma in Tamilnadu. There are 383 Amma Canteens in Greater Chennai Corporation alone.
